What happened next…

The next morning was very frosty… Mrs T was really surprised to find some strange writing on her car windscreen.  She didn’t understand what it said so she googled Ice Writing Translating and e mailed a Professor to see if he could help them.

The Professor sent back a reply –

Thank you for your  email.  It was very interesting to hear from you.  THe picture you sent me is a good example of frost writing and is very difficult to read unless you have magic powers.  However, I have translated it as follows:

Thank you for your floating message.  The onlyt way you can release Jack Frost before Spring is by sending for a special spell from the Mountain Ogre.  You can request this spell buy sending a polite letter to the Mountain Ogre, The Top of the Green Hill, Far, Far Away, Middle Lane, SX5 RU7

Remember to be VERY polite and request a spell for the release of a captive.  You need to be very nive to the Ogre lese he will not grant your request.

I hope this helps.

Kind Regards

Professor Wrinkleskin

Year One immediately wrote letters requesting a spell, they wrote VERY polite letters.  They decided that they ought to be sent up the fireplace, the same way you send a message to Santa.  Mrs T volunteered to send them up her chimney.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT??

We received a message!

The next morning a message came from Jack Frost.  It was in a jar of snow!

DSCI3232

The message was:

Year One

Please send a message to the Ice Queen to ask her for help.

Her sister the Witch of the North is keeping me prisoner. I need your help. You will need to send a message by the wind. Hurry! I must escape before winter is over. JF X

Year One decided to write some messages to the Ice Queen, tuck them into the balloon and let them go into the wind.  They decided to that they must think of the direction they wanted the balloon to go in when they let go of the string.

The Box is defrosted

The box came out of Mr Hodges freezer with strange designs on it. We carefully opened it up and some icy balloons popped out. There was a message attached to the balloons!  DSCI3228DSCI3231DSCI3233

The box is frozen!

This is a picture of the box now that its frozen.

I hope whatever is in the box doesn’t mind the cold.

Do you think I ought to put a blanket around it?

The box is leaking!!

Oh dear!!!

A big puddle has appeared on the floor underneath the box – the water is very cold and there are some snowflakes floating on the top.  I’m a little worried my house might get flooded so I am going to put it in the garden.

There are some very strange noises coming from the box.

I don’t think it is diamonds or Lego – the box is too big!
I will take a photo and you can see how big it is.

One strange thing is that it is VERY cold.   In fact the box is covered in frost.

Welcome

Welcome to Year One’s Blog.

I have a mystery that I hope you will be able to help me with.

Just before I left the classroom on Friday a parcel appeared on my desk. It is quite large and wrapped in brown paper.  It has a stamp of a snowy scene in the corner and it looks as though the stamp is printed with the word ‘Pole’ but it is difficult to see as it is covered by a postmark.  It is not that heavy and it rattles if you shake it! I have not opened it as it says in BIG letters on the front…TO BE OPENED BY YEAR ONE CHILDREN ONLY!!

What do you think is in it?

Remember the school E-Safety Rules

  1. Be kind
  2. Do not mention anyone’s names including your own.
  3. Never use a full name, use your initials, a nickname (nothing silly, as this name appears for everyone to see). Names that are full names or silly names will not be posted. You can use abbreviations like   Mr G or Miss P or your initials will do, your Mum, Dad or other relations can write something like ‘RG’s Mum’ if they would like.
  4. Write sensible posts that are interesting to read.
