Welcome

Welcome to Year One’s Blog.

I have a mystery that I hope you will be able to help me with.

Just before I left the classroom on Friday a parcel appeared on my desk. It is quite large and wrapped in brown paper.  It has a stamp of a snowy scene in the corner and it looks as though the stamp is printed with the word ‘Pole’ but it is difficult to see as it is covered by a postmark.  It is not that heavy and it rattles if you shake it! I have not opened it as it says in BIG letters on the front…TO BE OPENED BY YEAR ONE CHILDREN ONLY!!

What do you think is in it?

Remember the school E-Safety Rules

  1. Be kind
  2. Do not mention anyone’s names including your own.
  3. Never use a full name, use your initials, a nickname (nothing silly, as this name appears for everyone to see). Names that are full names or silly names will not be posted. You can use abbreviations like   Mr G or Miss P or your initials will do, your Mum, Dad or other relations can write something like ‘RG’s Mum’ if they would like.
  4. Write sensible posts that are interesting to read.

I think it is a survival kit. It could have a shovel or a little fork sent from Jack Frost.

    • dtipton says:

You may be right – but why would Jack Frost be sending a parcel to Year One?

Jack Frost would probably need a survival kit if he came to Harrow. What else would be in it I wonder?
Pookey knows a lot about Jack Frost as we read a poem about him – he may have some ideas!

  6. I think it might be some ice diamonds from Jack Frost as year one have learn’t about Jack Frost or it could be Jacks wand that he sent for the children

I think its a box full of small snowballs. And it will explode out into snowflakes when we open it because Jack Frost likes to play tricks.

    Sharp.

I can’t wait to open the box. I think it is full of frozen sweets in ice cubes slowly melting. I can’t waiting open the box and eat them with the whole class. Yummy

    • dtipton says:

OOOOOh! That sounds nice. There will be a lot of sweets as it is quite a big box!
We will have to put the box in the sink so it doesn’t get water all over the floor.
Perhaps we can de frost it in the school kitchen.

  11. Mona says:

Arjun P says it must be magic snow that never melts.. as the parcel is from the North Pole!
